While everybody is speaking about Intel right now because of the Intel Core i9-7980XE 18 core processor, it seems that they have other surprises prepared.

Intel is launching the 8th generation of Intel’s Core processor family during the summer period. We will probably see the future generation of Intel Core processors on the shelves starting from June 2017. Intel is facing a fierce competition against AMD for the first time in the last 5 year.

Intel promises a 30% performance increase for the next generation of Intel Core processors.

The new generation of AMD Ryzen processors seem to have awaken Intel from its numbness. Therefor Intel is preparing an avalanche of new processors, bringing a greater performance leap than the usual one for this period. While in the case of the 7th generation Intel officials promised a 15% performance increase, the 8th generation promises a lot more. It seems that this performance improvement will reach 30%. Intel officials have made this declarations at this year’s Computex opening. We don’t know whether the declarations are based on some measurements. But everyone is curious to see what Intel has to offer.

We will probably need to wait till the end of this year for Intel to see the new processors of the shelf.. But the enthusiast the buyers can get prepared from next month. Intel is launching starting from next month an improved version of the actual processors which are compatible with the new Intel X299 chipset. These processors are produced an improved 14nm manufacturing process. We are speaking about:

Intel Core i7-7740X

  • Intel Core i7-7740X rated at 4.3 Ghz (4.5 Ghz Boost) with 4 cores, 8 threads and 8Mb of cache
  • Intel core i7-7800X rated at 3.5 Ghz (4.0 Ghz Boost) with 6 cores, 12 threads and 8.25 Mb of cache

  • Intel Core i5-75640x rated at 4.0 Ghz (4.2 Ghz Boost) with 4 cores, 4 threads and 6Mb of cache
